Barbados took in 2000 for the 8th time at the Summer Olympics in part. A total of 18 athletes in 6 different sports qualified for the Games in Sydney .

The only medalist was Obadele Thompson , who won the bronze medal in the men's 100 meter sprint. The flag bearer was the athlete Andrea Blackett .
