Sierra Leone took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with three athletes, one woman and two men, in two sports.
Since 1968 it was the seventh participation of the African state in the Summer Olympics .
Flag bearer
Track and field athlete Ekundayo Williams carried the Sierra Leone flag during the opening ceremony at Stadium Australia .
