Myanmar took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with seven athletes, six women and one man, in four sports.

Since 1948 it was the thirteenth participation of the Asian state in the Summer Olympics .

Flag bearer

Track and field athlete Maung Maung Nge carried the Myanmar flag during the opening ceremony at Stadium Australia .
