The Turkey participated in the Summer Olympics in 2000 in Sydney part. 57 athletes, 42 men and 15 women, competed in a total of 58 competitions in ten sports. A total of three gold medals and two bronze medals were won, placing Turkey in 26th place in the medal table. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the wrestler Hamza Yerlikaya .
