Namibia took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with elevenathletes in six sports appointedby the Namibian National Olympic Committee .

It was the third time the African state had taken part in the Summer Olympics since 1992 .

Flag bearer

Boxer Ali Nuumbembe carried the flag of Namibia during the opening ceremony at Stadium Australia .
