1 On February 26, 2010, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) announced that the Chinese Dong Fangxiao was only 14 years old when she took part. Since the minimum age at the Olympic Games for gymnasts is 16 years, the FIG requested the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to withdraw the bronze medal for falsifying the age. In April 2010 the IOC complied with this request, disqualified the Chinese and put the US team in third place.
