At the Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens in 1906 , four competitions in gymnastics including rope hanging took place. They were played in the open air at the Kallimarmaro Stadium .

The athletes had a 3-minute each freestyle on stretching , bars and the rings , as well as 3 each high-long jumps and jumps over the horse along (without rolls complete).

The six-way fight was contested by the participants who had completed all 5 individual disciplines of the pentathlon. As a 6th exercise, a jump (3 attempts) across the pommel horse was required, the evaluation points of which were added to the points already achieved in the pentathlon.

Each team consisted of any number of gymnasts. The smallest group (Hungary) had 8 gymnasts, the largest group (Norway) had 21 gymnasts. Each group did a 25-minute free program with all athletes simultaneously on any equipment and on the floor.

At the Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens in 1906 , a tug of rope competition was held. According to the official program, dewing was embedded in the superordinate sport of athletics .
They were hooked (climbed) on a 10 m long rope attached to a mast with a boom. The start was from sitting on the floor. The Greek Kozanitas was placed in third place at the same time as the runner-up because he had illegally touched the mast with his legs while shackling.
