Valery Honcharov ( Ukrainian Валерій Гончаров , English transcription Valeriy Honcharov; born September 19, 1977 in Kharkiv ) is a Ukrainian gymnast and Olympic champion .

He took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and was able to win a silver medal in the team all-around with the Ukrainian team. In the individual competitions, he could not qualify for any final. Four years later at the Athens Games , he became Olympic gold medalist. He was eighth on the horizontal bar and in the team all-around competition he came in 7th.

At the 2005 World Gymnastics Championships in Melbourne, he won the bronze medal on the horizontal bar.
