August Güttinger (born July 10, 1892 , † November 1970 in Winterthur ) was a Swiss gymnast and two-time Olympic champion .
As a club, Güttinger began gymnastics at TV Veltheim in Winterthur .
At the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris he took part in all nine gymnastics competitions. He won the individual competition on parallel bars and came third in the rope swing . He was also victorious in the team all-around with the Swiss team.
Four years later, at the Summer Olympics in Amsterdam , he again took part in all seven men's competitions. In the team all-around competition he was able to win the gold medal again with the Swiss team. As the best individual result he achieved fifth place in the pommel horse , where the gold and silver medals went to his teammates Hermann Hänggi and Georges Miez .
