Two triathlon competitions were held at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney .

The center of the competitions with start, finish and transition area was in front of the Sydney Opera House . The swim was in Port Jackson . The cycling and running circuit ran through the Sydney Central Business District and the Royal Botanic Gardens .
