Dmitri Vladimirovich Gaag ( Russian Дмитрий Владимирович Гааг * 20th March 1971 in Karaganda ) is a former Kazakh triathlete . He is triathlon world champion (1999) and three-time Olympic athlete (2000, 2004, 2008).

Career

In September 1999 he became World Triathlon Champion on the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) in Montreal (Canada).

Dmitri Gaag took part in the Olympic Games three times. He achieved his best placement at the 2000 Olympic Games , where he finished fourth. In the 2004 Olympics he finished 25th place and at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, he was 47th

He has not appeared internationally since 2012.
