Tanzania took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with four athletes, one woman and three men, in one sport.

It was the ninth time the African state had taken part in the Summer Olympics since 1964 .

Flag bearer

The athlete Restituta Joseph carried the flag of Tanzania during the opening ceremony at Stadium Australia .
