Vietnam took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with seven athletes, four women and three men, in four sports.
Since 1952 it was the eleventh participation of the Asian state in the Summer Olympics .
Flag bearer
Trương Ngọc Để carried the flag of Vietnam during the opening ceremony at Stadium Australia .
