The Catholic parish church St. Petrus is a listed church building in Hommersum , a district of Goch in the Kleve district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

The church was incorporated into the Graefenthal monastery from 1300 . The one-bay reticulated choir from the 15th century and the west tower have been preserved from the previous building.

The three-aisled, neo-Gothic brick building was built in 1895. The central nave vault was destroyed in World War II and replaced as a pliest barrel. During the renovation in 1986, the vault was provided with wooden ribs.

Furnishing

  • A crucifix from the beginning of the 16th century is attached to the renewed cross above the triumphal arch .
  • The high-quality standing figure of Our Lady is a Maasland work from around 1320. The version has been lost, some places have been added.
  • St. Antony from around 1500 to 1520 was captured more recently
