Gabon took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Australian metropolis of Sydney with five athletes, three men and two women, in three sports.

It was Gabon's sixth participation in the Summer Olympics since 1972 .

Flag bearer

Judoka Mélanie Engoang carried the flag of Gabon during the opening ceremony at Stadium Australia .
