Gabon took part inthe 2012 Olympic Games in London . It was the ninth participation in the Summer Olympics. The Comité Olympique Gabonais nominated 24 athletes in five sports. Another four footballers were appointed as substitutes.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the athlete Ruddy Zang Milama .
