Bjambyn Tüwschinbat (* 27. March 1987 in Ulaanbaatar , Mongolia ) is a Mongolian boxer in the welterweight division . He was a participant in the Olympic Games in 2012 and 2016 .

Career

The 1.74 m tall left boom began boxing in 1998 and won a bronze medal at the 2006 World University Championships in Almaty . At the Asian Games in 2006 he lost in the first fight against Olympic champion Manus Boonjumnong .

In 2007 he won the silver medal at the German Chemistry Cup and the Asian Championships in Ulaanbaatar, where he defeated Manoj Kumar and was defeated in the final against Serik Säpijew . He then took part in the 2007 World Championships in Chicago and defeated the Finn Jussi Koivula in the first fight, but was then eliminated against the South Korean Park Kwan-soo. In 2008 he failed at the Asian Olympic qualification tournaments in Bangkok and Astana .

In 2010 he won the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Tournament in Pakistan and was voted the best boxer of the tournament. He also won the 2010 World University Championships in Ulaanbaatar by beating Onur Şipal in the final and came in sixth at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou .

He won a bronze medal at the 2011 Asian Championships in Incheon and also started at the 2011 World Championships in Baku . There he defeated Samuel Matevosyan from Armenia, but then retired against the Russian Andrei Samkowoi .

In the 2012 Asian Olympic qualification in Astana, he defeated Zulqarnain Abbas from Pakistan and Kim Jung-won from South Korea, which qualified him for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . There he defeated Yannick Mitoumba from Gabon in the preliminary round, but then dropped out at 12:13 against the Frenchman Alexis Vastine .

He won a bronze medal at the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan and competed at the 2013 World Championships in Almaty. At the 2015 World Championships in Doha , he defeated the Czech Zdeněk Chládek , but then failed in the second duel against the Chinese Liu Wei .

In the 2016 Asian Olympic qualification in China, he defeated Shafar Dawlatow from Tajikistan, Bakhtiyar Mascharipow from Turkmenistan and Eumir Marcial from the Philippines, which qualified him for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . At the Olympics he defeated the Argentine Alberto Palmeta, but lost in the second fight against Steven Donnelly from Ireland.

At the Asian Championships in Tashkent in 2017 , he again won a bronze medal after losing to Abylaichan Shuissipov in the semi-final .
