East Timor took part inthe 2012 Olympic Games in London . It was the third overall participation in the Summer Olympics (in 2000 still as an independent Olympic participant ). The Comité Olímpico Nacional de Timor-Leste nominated two athletes in one sport.
The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the marathon runner Augusto Ramos Soares .
