Augusto Ramos Soares (born August 22, 1986 in Becae , East Timor ) is a marathon and middle distance runner from East Timor.

The 165 cm tall athlete finished second in the first Dili Marathon in 2010 in 2:26:00 hours. In the following year, he was second again with 2:31:54 hours.

At the Tokyo Marathon 2012 Soares finished after 2:33:46 hours.

Soares takes the 2012 Olympic Games in London in part and was the flag bearer at the opening ceremony. He was supposed to be at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , but didn't come. In London, Soares was the penultimate runner to finish with a time of 2:45:09 hours.

At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , Soares started at the 1500 m distance. With 4: 11.35 he was the slowest runner to reach the finish.

Soares, the Olympian from 2000 Calisto da Costa , trained for the Dili Marathon 2013 on June 22nd .
