Calisto da Costa

Calisto da Costa (born February 6, 1979 in Dili , East Timor ) is a marathon runner from East Timor. He participated in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney , making him one of the first East Timorese athletes to compete for the country in the Olympic Games.

102 athletes took part in the marathon at the Olympic Games in Sydney on October 1, 2000, of which 81 completed the route completely. Costa finished the race in 71st place in 2:33:11, 23 minutes after the winner, the Ethiopian Gezahegne Abera .

At the second Dili marathon on June 18, 2011, Costa was third with a time of 2:34:52 hours. The following year, Costa won the Dili marathon on May 12, 2012 in 2:46:42 hours for the Dili marathon In 2013, Costa worked as the coach of the 2012 Olympians Juventina Napoleão and Augusto Ramos .

On November 6, 2011, Costa finished the New York City Marathon on place 276 in 2:46:04 hours.
