Greece took part inthe 2012 Olympic Games in London . It was the 27th participation in the Summer Olympics. The Elliniki Olympiaki Epitropi nominated a total of 103 athletes in 16 sports. The triple jumper Paraskevi Papachristou was banned from the Games on July 25th by the person in charge of the Greek Olympic team, Isidoros Kouvelos , because of an offensive comment on Twitter about African immigrants living in Greece. The high jumper Dimitrios Chondrokoukis was excluded one day before the start of the games after a positive doping test.
