Botswana took part inthe 2012 Olympic Games in London . It was the ninth participation in the Summer Olympics. The Botswana National Olympic Committee nominated four athletes in two sports.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the athlete Amantle Montsho .

The 800m runner Nijel Amos took second place in the final and thus won the first Olympic medal for Botswana since it first participated in 1980.
