Olympic participant of Austria 2012 (not the complete delegation)

The Austrian squad nominated by the Austrian Olympic Committee (ÖOC) for the Olympic Summer Games 2012 in London for the XXX Games. Olympiad included 70 athletes. The flag bearer of the delegation was the swimmer Markus Rogan at the opening ceremony ; The hurdler Beate Schrott held the flag at the closing ceremony . For the first time since the Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo in 1964 , Austria remained without a medal.

The roster was announced by ÖOC on July 6, 2012. It initially consisted of 69 athletes, after the subsequent nomination of tennis player Tamira Paszek by the International Tennis Federation , the team finally comprised 70 athletes. Of the 31 women and 39 men, 30 took part in the Olympic Games for the first time, the shooter Thomas Farnik for the sixth time. Four athletes - Andreas Geritzer , Ludwig Paischer , Christian Planer and Markus Rogan - had already won Olympic medals in previous games. The support team consisted of 60 people. The Trinity House was rented as the “Austria House”, ie as a meeting point for athletes and supervisors, members of the ÖOC team, sponsor representatives, guests of honor and media representatives as well as a location for press conferences and any medal celebrations .
