Corinna Kuhnle (born July 4, 1987 in Vienna ) is an Austrian canoeist . She is two-time world champion and overall world cup winner in canoe slalom with a single kayak .

Career

Kuhnle grew up in Höflein and has been a member of the Austrian national canoe slalom team since 2004. She achieved her first international successes in canoeing in the same year as Vice-European Junior Champion and in 2005 as third in the team at both the European Championships and the World Championships in Penrith (Australia). Since completing her school education as an industrial engineer with the HTL high school diploma in 2006, she has been training as a competitive athlete in the Austrian Army Sports Association , her rank is train driver .

In 2008 and 2010 Kuhnle won the bronze medal at the U23 European Championships, and in 2010 also in the team competition. Also in 2010 she won the silver medal at the European Championships and was the first world champion at the Canoe Slalom World Championships in Ljubljana . In the following year she was able to win the world championships in Bratislava again. In the overall World Cup she was second in 2009 and 2010, third in 2011, in the world rankings she was third in 2010 and second in 2011. At the Olympic Summer Games in London in 2012 , she took part in the Austrian team in the canoe competitions and took 8th place in the K-1 final. In 2016, she also took part in the Olympic Games in the canoe slalom discipline and came in 5th.

Corinna Kuhnle lives in Vienna, but comes from Höflein on the Danube . .
