Zugsführer - short form: Zgf or ZF - is a team rank (employment group M ZCh / batches ) in the Austrian Armed Forces . The rank of corporal corporal in the German armed forces is roughly equivalent to this. He can take on commanding tasks up to a group size and must therefore not be confused with the German platoon leader .

In foreign missions he is referred to in English as Master Corporal (MCpl) and has the NATO rank code OR-4 .

Soldiers who are training to become NCOs (HUAK) or officers (KAAusb) wear their own version of the rank with a silver-colored crossbar on the upper edge.

Austria-Hungary

Equated with the rank of platoon leader and provided with the corresponding badges of distinction :

Staff leader (military music)
Course blacksmith (fittings)
Second class invoicing officer ( Hungarian Számvivő altiszt )
Armorer 2nd class
