The 2010 Canoe Slalom World Championships took place from September 8th to 12th, 2010 in Tacen, Ljubljana , Slovenia . The World Championships were organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF). Tacen hosted the Canoe Slalom World Championships for the third time after 1955 and 1991. A total of nine competitions were held, for the men an individual and a team decision in a single kayak K-1, single canoe C-1 and two-person canoe C-2 and for women an individual and team decision in a single kayak K-1 as well as an individual decision in a single-canoe C-1. The women's C-1 was an official competition at world championships for the first time. Initially, a team decision was also planned, but this was canceled and will now be held for the first time in 2011.

The competitions were held in the Tacen White Water Slalom Course, a canoe park on the Save River . The competitions suffered from difficult weather conditions. Due to heavy rains and the resulting flooding on the river, the schedule had to be changed several times. No competitions could be held on the second day of competition.

As in the previous year, Slovakia became the most successful nation in the competitions with three gold medals. The German team won a total of four medals in the team decisions, but could not win a medal in the Olympic individual decisions for the first time since the 1999 World Cup.
