The 1961 Canoe Slalom World Championships took place from July 22nd to 26th, 1961. The venue was the Rote Weißeritz in Rabenauer Grund near Hainsberg , a community near Dresden in the GDR . The canoe slalom world championships were held together with the whitewater racing world championships in 1961 . 13 nations took part in both competitions.
