Lisa Zaiser (born August 23, 1994 in Spittal an der Drau ) is an Austrian swimmer . She specializes in swimming pools.

Career

Zaiser, who competes for ASV Linz and is trained by Mag. Marco Wolf , celebrated her first international success with sixth place at the Olympic Youth Days in Belgrade in 2007. At the Austrian Junior Championships in 2008, Zaiser secured five gold medals and one silver and one Bronze. In the same year she won two bronze medals at the senior championships. She was also successful at the indoor state championships in 2009 and won three bronze and one silver medal.

At the European Youth Championships in Prague in 2009 , she was twelfth in the 200 meter medley. A year later, Zaiser secured her first two national titles at the Austrian State Championships. At the 2010 European Junior Championships in Helsinki she just missed a medal and ended up fourth and fifth.

At the European Short Course Championships 2011 in Szczecin , Zaiser set a new Austrian record over the 100 meter individual medley with a time of 1: 00.77 minutes.

At the Austrian Indoor Championships in Graz 2012 she won three titles in the 100 meter chest, 200 meter medley and 50 meter dolphin and qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London with a time of 2: 14.09 minutes over 200 meter medley . With this success she was the youngest swimmer from Austria at the Olympics at the age of 17.

At the games, she surprisingly beat well-known swimmers such as Sycerika McMahon and Eygló Ósk Gústafsdóttir and only had to admit defeat by a hundredth of a second to two-time Olympic participant Hanna Dzerkal from Hungary. As at the end of only 19th, she missed the semi-finals a little later.

At the Austrian State Championships 2014 in St. Pölten , Zaiser won seven individual titles and one relay title. At the European Swimming Championships in Berlin in 2014, she swam the bronze medal in the 200 meter medley.

The Carinthian Sports Press Club voted her "Carinthian Sportswoman of the Year" in 2014, and in 2015 she was 2nd.

At the beginning of August 2018, Zaiser retired due to health problems in the lumbar vertebra area.
