The ASV Linz is a swimming club in Linz ( A mateur s chwimm v erein Linz).

history

The ASV Linz was founded in 1947 and, together with the 1. LSK Heindl, is the oldest swimming club in Linz. The club has produced many successful swimmers and shaped swimming in Upper Austria .

For many years, the former national champion and ASV Linz veteran Ludwig Eder took care of the club's sporting interests . Numerous swimmers were his protégés, among them Vera Lischka (European champion, Olympic fifth in Atlanta in 1996 ). The chairman of the club, Helmut Ilk , used to be a successful swimmer himself and multiple national champion and Olympic participant in Rome in 1960 .

In addition to Vera Lischka, the men's relays with successes and the men's team at the Austrian team championships caused a sensation.
