The Maldives took part in the 2012 Olympic Games in London . It was the seventh participation in the Summer Olympics. The Maldives Olympic Committee nominated five athletes in three sports.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the badminton player Mohamed Ajfan Rasheed .
