Afghanistan took part inthe 2012 Olympic Games in London . It was the 13th participation in the Summer Olympics. The Afghanistan National Olympic Committee nominated six athletes in four sports.

Sadaf Rahimi was supposed to start in boxing but was not nominated.

The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was the Taekwondoin Nesar Ahmad Bahave .
