Albania took part inthe 2012 Olympic Games in London . It was the seventh participation in the Summer Olympics. The Komiteti Olimpik Kombëtar Shqiptar nominated eleven athletes in five sports. Born in Kosovo, Majlinda Kelmendi competed in Judo for Albania after the IOC rejectedparticipation for Kosovo and as an independent Olympic participant .

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the weightlifter Romela Begaj .

The weightlifter Hysen Pulaku was excluded from the games on the first day of competition after a positive doping test.
