Hysen Pulaku

Hysen Pulaku (born December 8, 1992 in Elbasan ) is an Albanian weightlifter . He competes in the weight class up to 77 kilograms.

Career

Pulaku was Junior European Champion in 2009, at the Junior European Championships 2011 he took second place. After moving to the senior division, he finished seventh at the 2011 World Championships in Paris and fifth at the European Championships in Antalya in April 2012 .

With these achievements he qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . On the first day of the competition, the anabolic steroid stanozolol was detected in his urine sample from a training control on July 23, 2012 and Pulaku was excluded from the games with immediate effect. He was banned for two years. At the 2014 World Championships he was positive for stanozolol again and he was banned for eight years.
