Nadine Brandl (born March 11, 1990 in Vienna ) is an Austrian synchronized swimmer (solo and duet).

Career

Brandl is niece of the synchronized swimmer Alexandra Worisch (medal winner at the European championships 1981 , 1985 and 1987 ) and the tower Springer Michael Worisch and granddaughter's Diving Eva Worisch (b Eva Pfarrhofer ). She began to gain first experience in sport at the age of five in the gymnastics club. After nine years in Belgium and Germany, she returned to Austria and began to train with her grandmother, who supervised synchronized swimming in the swimming club. From 2005 she competed solo at the Junior European Championships, where she finished ninth in 2005, eighth in 2006 and seventh in both 2007 and 2008. At the Junior World Championships she was twelfth in 2006 and tenth in 2008.

At the European Swimming Championships in Budapest in 2006 , she reached 11th place in a duet with her then partner Lisbeth Mahn , the 2007 World Swimming Championships in Melbourne she finished 20th and the 2008 European Swimming Championships in Eindhoven in twelfth. Brandl has been training as a competitive athlete in the Austrian Army Sports Association since 2008 . In the same year, she took part in the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing as part of the Austrian Olympic team and finished 22nd in a duet with Mahn. At the following World Swimming Championships in Rome in 2009 , she reached 13th place in the solo competition (technical program) and 17th in the duet.

Brandl has been swimming in a duet with Livia Lang since autumn 2009 . Together they reached ninth place in their first international competition at the 2010 European Swimming Championships in Budapest , and Brandl came seventh in the final of the solo competition ex aequo with the Czech Soňa Bernardová . At the 2011 World Swimming Championships in Shanghai , she took part in four competitions: Solo technical (16th), Solo free (16th), Duet technical (22nd) and Duet free (20th). At the European Synchronized Swimming Championships in Eindhoven, which took place separately from the European Swimming Championships in Debrecen in 2012 , she came sixth in solo and eighth in combination.

In the summer of 2012 Brandl was part of the Austrian Olympic team for the second time at the Summer Olympics in London and took part in the synchronized swimming competitions in a duet with Lang , where they achieved their goal of finishing in the top twenty with 19th place.
