The 15th European Swimming Championships took place in Split ( Yugoslavia ) from September 5 to 12, 1981 and were organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN).

The 1981 European Swimming Championships included competitions in swimming , art and high diving , synchronized swimming and the men's water polo tournament.
