The 10th European Swimming Championships took place from August 18 to 25, 1962 in Leipzig ( GDR ) and were organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN) and carried out in the swimming stadium .

The 1962 European Swimming Championships included competitions in swimming , art and high diving as well as the men's water polo tournament. 750 athletes from 23 nations took part. Because of the construction of the Wall, the Federal Republic of Germany did not take part in the European Swimming Championships in 1962.
