Christiane Lanzke
Christiane Lanzke (born March 15, 1947 in Potsdam , † 2005 in Rostock ) was a German diver who also appeared as an actress.
Life
Lanzke had been an active water diver since she was 11. She trained under Max Kinast at SC Empor Rostock and was 3rd from the tower in the GDR championships in 1961. At the age of 15 she reached second place behind Ingrid Krämer at the European Swimming Championships in Leipzig in 1962 in artificial jumping from the three-meter board. In 1962, Lanzke was GDR runner-up on the three-meter board and the tower. In 1964 she was 2nd from the three-meter board and 3rd from the tower at the GDR championships. Also in 1964 she won the Rostock Springer Day from the tower and the three-meter board and in the same year started for the all-German team at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo . From the tower she was 5th and the three-meter board 9th overall. Due to a shoulder injury, Lanzke had to end her active career as a water diver in 1966 at the age of 19.
In 1966 she was engaged by Kurt Maetzig for his film Das Mädchen auf dem Brett , in which Lanzke played the leading role of the water diver Katharina. "The advantage that the main actress can play herself for the most part undoubtedly supports a documentary concept," wrote critics after the premiere of the film in 1967. Lanzke did not allow himself to be doubled in the film, but performed all the jumps himself. After filming was over, she began studying at the German Academy for Film Art in Potsdam-Babelsberg and, after completing her training, was employed at theaters in Halle and Greifswald. She also took on other small roles in film and television, including as a double diver in the love comedy You and Me and Little Paris . Later she was responsible for the cultural program on a GDR vacation ship and after the reunification became an administrative assistant in a Potsdam cabaret.
