The European Open Water Championships took place from September 7th to 11th 2011 in Eilat . Seven competitions were held, individual competitions for women and men over the distances of 5, 10 and 25 kilometers as well as a 5-kilometer team competition. A total of 90 athletes from 21 countries took part in the competitions.
