Martina Grimaldi (born September 28, 1988 in Bologna ) is an Italian open water swimmer . She is the current world and European champion (as of June 2015) over 25 km.

successes

At the 2013 World Swimming Championships in Barcelona she won the 25 km in 5: 07: 19.7 hours ahead of Angela Maurer (5: 07: 19.8 hours). At the 2014 European Swimming Championships on the regatta course in Berlin , she relegated Angela Maurer to third place (5: 19: 21.4) over the same distance and won in 5: 19: 14.1 ahead of the Hungarian Anna Olasz (5:19: 21.0).

In her second Olympic participation in London at the 2012 Olympic Games , she took bronze over the 10 km distance in 1: 57: 41.8 behind the Hungarian Éva Risztov (1: 57: 38.2) and the American Haley Anderson (1: 57: 38.6).

Grimaldi is multiple Italian champion.
