Benjamin Konschak (born July 20, 1986 in Berlin ) is a German swimmer who mainly focuses on open water swimming . Although he also takes part in competitions over shorter distances, he specializes in longer distances over 15 and 25 km. His greatest successes to date include victories at the German Open Water Swimming Championships in 2009 and 2011 .

Career

Benjamin Konschak was born in Berlin and switched to a sports school there in 1996, where he concentrated on swimming. In addition to his other interests, such as cycling and cross-country skiing, he decided to switch to open water swimming in 2005. He trained with the Berliner Wasserratten eV until 2008 and then moved to the SGR Karlsruhe in 2009.

Benjamin Konschak completed his teaching degree at the University of Karlsruhe in 2011.

Swimming career

Benjamin Konschak's discipline is open water swimming . Although he also takes part in competitions over shorter distances, he specializes in longer distances over 15 and 25 km.

In 2008 Benjamin Konschak successfully participated in regional championships, such as B. the Baden-Württemberg Championships, in which he took first place over the 5 and 10 km.

His greatest successes to date include victories at the German Open Water Swimming Championships in 2009 and 2011 . Since then he has also taken part in the international FINA competitions. With the ticket from the German championships he also took part in the world championships in open water swimming in Shanghai and the open water European championships in Eilat over the 25 km in 2011 .
