The 14th European Swimming Championships took place in Jönköping from August 14 to 21, 1977 and were organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN).

The 1977 European Swimming Championships included competitions in swimming , art and tower diving , synchronized swimming and the men's water polo tournament.
