András Hargitay [ ˈɒndraːʃ ˈhɒrɡitɒ.i ] (born March 7, 1956 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian swimmer .

In the 1970s he was one of the best swimming medley in the world, but was only able to win a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 at the age of 16. For this he held himself harmless at European and World Championships and won a total of five titles in these championships over the intermediate distance, he managed another European title over the 200 m butterfly.
