Udo Poser becomes GDR champion in 1969 over the 200 meter dolphin

Udo Poser (born August 21, 1947 in Hildburghausen ) is a former German swimmer who competed for the GDR .

At the European Championships in 1966 he made his first appearance in international sport when he became European champion with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay and won the silver medal with the 4 × 100 m individual relay relay. In 1970 he was able to secure the title over 200 m butterfly and with the individual relay relay, over 100 m butterfly it was enough to win a silver medal. At the Olympic Games, however, he could not win any medals. His best placing was a fifth place in 1968 with the 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay. In 1970 he received the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.
