Tamás Darnyi

Tamás Darnyi [ ˈtɒmaːʃ ˈdɒrɲi ] (born June 3, 1967 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian swimmer .

He is one of the most successful all-round swimmers in the history of swimming. At the Olympic Games in 1988 and 1992 he won the gold medal in the 200 m and 400 m individual medley. He achieved the same feat in 1987 and 1991 at the World Swimming Championships . In these two years he was also voted World Swimmer of the Year . In 2000 he was inducted into the international swimming pool 's hall of fame .
