Rachele Bruni (born November 4, 1990 in Florence ) is an Italian swimmer .

Life

As a swimmer, Bruni specializes in long-distance races in the open air. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , she won the silver medal in the women's 10 km open water behind the Dutch swimmer Sharon van Rouwendaal . The French swimmer Aurélie Muller , who was ahead of Bruni, was disqualified for obstructing Bruni on the finish line.

Bruni dedicated the silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro to her family, her trainer and her partner.

At the European Swimming Championships in the open air, she won eight gold medals.

In open water swimming over 10 km, she won the bronze medal at the 2019 World Swimming Championships.
