Ute Noack (born January 27, 1943 ) is a former German swimmer .

Career

In 1962 she improved the European record over 100 meters butterfly twice , in 1964 she improved the European record over 200 meters butterfly .

She lost her European record for the 100 meter butterfly in the finals of the 1962 European Championship in Leipzig to Ada Kok from the Netherlands , behind whom Noack won the silver medal. With the 4 × 100 meter layer relay she won the title ahead of the Netherlands, when Ingrid Schmidt , Barbara Göbel , Ute Noack and Heidi Pechstein set a world record in 4: 40.1 minutes on August 23, 1962 . This season was voted Team of the Year in the election for Sportsman of the Year in the GDR . In the same year she received the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 , Ute Noack failed to make it into the 100 meter butterfly final as fifth in the semifinals.

Ute Noack started for the Berlin TSC .
