Ursula Küper (born November 28, 1937 in Berlin , after marrying Ursula Stille ) is a former swimmer from the GDR . She was third in the 1960 Olympics with the individual relay.

Ursula Küper was only discovered during her studies for swimming. In 1959 she moved to SC Dynamo Berlin and won her only GDR championship title with the 4 x 200 meter chest relay. At the GDR swimming championships in 1960, she took second place behind Barbara Göbel over 200 meters chest . In the domestic elimination for the all-German team at the 1960 Olympic Games , she took fourth place over 200 meters chest. She set a new world record over 100 meters on July 14, 1960 in Leipzig with 1: 19.0 minutes . Although this distance was not yet Olympic as an individual route in 1960, the world record meant qualification for the individual relay relay. The 4 x 100 meter medley relay with Ingrid Schmidt , Ursula Küper and Bärbel Fuhrmann from the GDR and the FRG freestyle specialist Ursel Brunner then swam in the Olympic final in 4: 47.6 minutes to third place behind the US relay and the Australians.

In the following years Ursula Küper took second place behind Barbara Grimmer three times at GDR championships , she did not win a championship title on an individual route. At the European Swimming Championships in Leipzig in 1962 , she received the bronze medal on the 200-meter chest course. Ursula Küper also qualified for the 1964 Olympic Games on the long chest stretch and took eighth place in Tokyo.

After her career, Ursula Küper worked as a university sports teacher at the Humboldt University in Berlin . Her stepdaughter Antje Stille swam at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.
