Martina Jäschke (born May 6, 1960 in Merseburg ) is a former German water diver who won gold in diving for the GDR at the 1980 Summer Olympics .

She started diving at the age of eleven and initially trained with three-time Olympic champion Ingrid Krämer-Gulbin . She later trained at SC Chemie Halle under Werner Bänsch. In 1975 she won the Spartakiade from the one- and three-meter board and from the tower. In 1976 she was second in jumping at the European Junior Championships. At the 1978 World Swimming Championships in West Berlin, she was second behind Irina Kalinina in high diving . In 1979 Jäschke won several important international competitions. At a jumping in Rostock she received the highest grade 10 for the first time.

At the Olympic Games in 1980 she was fifth in jumping, where she was only the third best jumper in the GDR behind Martina Proeber (silver) and Karin Guthke (bronze). In the high diving five days later, she took the lead with the first freestyle jump and in the end won with almost 20 points ahead of Sirward Emirsjan from the Soviet Union. For this success she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver. In 1981 she was second again in jumping and third from the tower at the European Championships.

Martina Jäschke completed her studies at the German University for Physical Culture .
