Lesley Bush (born September 17, 1947 in Orange , California ) is a former American water diver . She took part in two Olympic Games and won a gold medal.

Bush competed in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo at the age of 17 . She took part in the competition from the tower and was able to take the lead with the first jump. Until the end of the competition, she did not give up this position and won the gold medal ahead of the Germans Ingrid Krämer and Galina Alexejewa from the Soviet Union. In 1967 Lesley Bush won the title in high diving at the Pan American Games . A year later she was a participant in the 1968 Summer Olympics . She made a mistake in the first jump and was ultimately only able to achieve 19th place. In her career, she won a total of five Amateur Athletic Union titles .

She is the sister of water diver David Bush and was married to swimmer Charles Hickcox , from whom she divorced.
