Hagen Stamm (born June 12, 1960 in Berlin ) is a German water polo player and coach.

Stamm was one of the best German water polo players. He won the bronze medal at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles . In 1981 and 1989 he was European champion with the German national team. In 1982 the team was third in the world championship. In total, he played 323 international matches and scored over 750 goals.

In the club, Hagen Stamm played for the Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 . With this club from 1979 to 1992 he was German champion fourteen times in a row, twelve times German cup winner and won the European Cup in 1982, 1985, 1986 and 1989. In 1987, 1989 and 1992 he was the top scorer in the German Water Polo League.

After the German national water polo team failed to qualify for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , Stamm became national coach in the same year. With him, a new team matured, which was able to record successes again. At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 , the team finished fifth. As a result of the failure in the Olympic qualification tournament for the 2012 Olympic Games in London , Hagen Stamm resigned as national coach of the German national water polo team.

In November 2016, Stamm became the national team coach again on an interim basis. Since January 2017, he has been officially national coach again with a 50% job. After the team qualified fourth for the 2019 World Cup at the World Cup 2018 in Berlin , he extended the contract until 2020.

Hagen Stamm is also the president of his parent club Wasserfreunde Spandau 04, in which his son Marko Stamm is a player. He is the owner of a bicycle wholesaler.
